English to Italian: A1 patterns
Practice one useful pattern.

New pattern
Italian: asking the way with “Per andare a… ?”
“Per andare a… ?” turns a destination into a direction question.
Ready to start.
Ask the way to the station in Italian.
How this works
Per andare means “to go.” Add the destination with a. Italian combines a with the article: a + la → alla, and a + il → al.
Build it piece by piece
- Per andare
- To go
- alla stazione
- to the station
- al museo
- to the museum
Changing the destination can change the preposition: alla stazione → al museo.
Worked example
Now ask the way to the museum.
Per andare al museo, per favore?
Compare this with the model above. Notice what stayed the same and what changed. Read both aloud before continuing; this part is for learning, not scoring.
