English to Italian: A1 patterns
Practice one useful pattern.

New pattern
Italian: checking in with “Ho una prenotazione…”
“Ho una prenotazione…” states your booking clearly at reception.
Ready to start.
Check in: say you have a reservation under the name Rossi.
How this works
Ho means “I have”; Italian usually leaves out the subject io here. Add una prenotazione (a reservation), then a nome di and the booking name.
Build it piece by piece
- Buonasera
- Good evening
- ho
- I have
- una prenotazione
- a reservation
- a nome di
- under the name of
The h in ho is silent, but it is required in writing.
Worked example
Now check in under the name Bianchi.
Buonasera, ho una prenotazione a nome di Bianchi.
Compare this with the model above. Notice what stayed the same and what changed. Read both aloud before continuing; this part is for learning, not scoring.
